Love One Another

The Second Greatest Command is to 'Love One Another." Have you ever been to a church where no one knew your name? When you weren't able to make it, were you missed? Did the church even know you weren't there? How about time when times were hard? Was the church there to help? It should have been. When you needed to talk to a pastor, did he know who you were?

We're not perfect, but at Pleasant Valley Church, we strive to live out the second greatest commandment on a regular basis. One of the wonderful realities of Pleasant Valley Church is that we will know your name! This allows us to care for you and your family in greater ways. We pray for one another, we encourage one another, and when needed, we help one another.

We would love to have you get connected at Pleasant Valley Church. We have something for everyone. Everything we do here is centered around three things: loving God, loving others, and reaching the world. Check out all our activities listed or jump right to the ministry you're looking for with the buttons below.

Children's Ministry

Luke 18:16

Jesus, however, invited them: “Let the little children come to Me, and don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

We offer Sunday School for children at 9:15 a.m. every Sunday morning. Children are taught about God by one of our hard working, childcare approved volunteers. The curriculum that we utilize is called The Gospel Project. For more information about this curriculum you can visit the Gospel Project Website.

TeamKID is a great ministry for children ages 4 through 6th grade. This takes place on Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:45 - 8:00 p.m. During TeamKID your children will sing worship songs, hear a bible lesson and participate in games and recreation.

One thing we feel is unique at Pleasant Valley Church is that we encourage children, 1st grade and older, to join us in our Worship Service. We believe that this is a great opportunity for parents and children to worship together and it can open conversations about what is being taught and practiced.

For younger children, we offer childcare during our Worship Service. This is for babies at least six weeks old all the way to children 5 years old. All of our childcare volunteers have gone through an application and approval process, so you know you are leaving your child in safe hands. Additionally, you are given a pager at check-in so that we can notify you if your child needs you at any time.

Our biggest event for children at PVC is Vacation Bible School. Each year, in the summer we offer an action packed, gospel teaching, fun filled week for kids ages 4 through 6th grade. The kids get to make crafts, play games, here biblical teaching, have snack, and sing fun songs! We love having lots of kids come out each year to join in the excitement.

Youth Ministry

During the Sunday morning 9:15 hours the youth have Small Groups. This offers our teens a space to build relationships and to explore spiritual questions and answers together. These groups are divided by gender and are led by childcare approved volunteers who have a heart for working with teens. They are also studying The Gospel Project. This is a great ministry for students from 7th to 12th grade.

Ignite Youth Group

Ignite Youth Group is a time for students to come together and start their week off right. This happens on the second and fourth Sunday night of each month from 6:00-7:30 at the church or at the house of one of our youth's family. Students get a chance to connect with one another, meet new people, and learn about God. It is a great way for students to connect with and encourage one another.

Our youth join the adults on the first and third Wednesdays of each month for prayer and then for our Food Distribution. This is a great way to connect as a family in the church. It also demonstrates the value of prayer and service to teens, and gives the church body a chance to connect across age barriers.

Adult Ministry

Acts 2:42

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to the prayers.

Adult Sunday Morning Classes

For adults on Sunday mornings, we offer Sunday morning classes. These classes are designed specifically to help you learn more about God while connecting with others who might be in a similar stage of life.  These classes cover a variety of topics, but they all have a few things in common: they are biblically based, they are designed to help you connect with others, and they are open to anyone who would like to join. So whether you are a seasoned Christian or someone investigating the Christian faith, you're invited.

Keep in mind that we have childcare for the youngest guests and classes for everyone else: preschool, elementary and teens.

Deacon Family Ministry

We have a wonderful group of people who are on the 'frontlines' of caring for our people, and these men are our deacons. Together, they are available for every member of the church. They pray for the members, they help during challenging times, they make home and hospital visits and more. When you become a member of Pleasant Valley Church, you have a deacon assigned to you in order to help you become more connected.

Another way to connect at Pleasant Valley is to get involved with a Home Group. These are small groups that meet with the purpose of building relationships, establishing accountability, praying and living life together.  We'd love for you to connect with one of our home groups. Due to the great connections that happen, we ask that people be engaged in the membership process before entering into a home group.

We believe that prayer is at the foundation of everything we do as a church. For this reason, the first Wednesday night of every month the adults and youth gather for a night of prayer. This takes place at 7:00 p.m. and is a time to praise God for what he has done and to lift up our requests to Him.

On the third Wednesday of every month, we have our Food Distribution. Through this we are able to provide a resource to get food for those in need in our community through the Cleveland Food Bank. This is a great way to reach out to the community and to serve alongside other people from the church.

Our Women's Ministry meets periodically for breakfasts, bible studies, times of prayer and other things. Additionally, we have Mom2Mom which is our ministry where new moms can come and get advice and wisdom from more experienced moms. Also, we have an annual Christmas Gathering which is fun and fellowship and a great time to invite guests to join.

Our Men's Ministry has monthly breakfasts, small groups, and outings. This is great place for men to connect with one another and encourage each other in their walk with Christ.
